DETAILS ON THE SKI AREA
As soon as the first snow falls, Verbier is a winter sports enthusiast’s delight. « Les 4 Vallées », a ski area with no fewer than 410 km of pistes and over 89 lifts, includes the resorts of Verbier, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon and La Tzoumaz. A cable car serves the summit of Mont-Fort at an altitude of 3330 meters, whose descent is one of the most beautiful black runs in the Alps.
Non-skiers can also enjoy the winter landscape on snowshoes, hiking trails or on the longest toboggan run in French-speaking Switzerland, 10 km long. Verbier is well known to ski tourers as a stopover on the « Haute Route » linking Chamonix to Zermatt.
